Good Governance of Supportive Police in Increasing Mental Health

Abstract

This study is a review of the study of police culture in crime prevention. The need to combat crime is as old as human civilization. Although crime in itself is beneficial to society. But it is a problem that involves costs and a worrying issue that affects all members of society. Therefore, a coherent and effective strategy is needed to control it. Crime prevention seems to be one of the main parts of this strategy, which in many parts of the world has engaged thousands of officials and experts in finding a solution to crime prevention, so that they can find solutions to reduce crime. In order to achieve this, according to the governing policies of each country and the laws in force, a number of institutions and organizations have been identified for crime prevention. Among these institutions, the police organization is one of those organizations that considers crime prevention as its most essential task. Throughout history, they have used different models and methods to achieve their goals based on the requirements of the time. Initially, the police method was based on the traditional model of law enforcement and was repressive. However, over time and social developments, the methods and behavior of the police organization, which has a special and valuable culture, have moved towards new and interactive methods such as community-centeredness, problem solving, and specialized supervision. In these thoughts, the police have considered the participation of society and institutions as essential for the realization of prevention, which can, in addition to reducing and preventing crime, bring order and security to society.
