Abstract
This literature review examines active learning strategies designed for students with intellectual disabilities. It explores the classification and characteristics of intellectual disabilities, highlighting essential principles for their education. The review emphasizes the role of active learning, particularly role-playing, in fostering engagement, critical thinking, and practical understanding. Key elements and principles of active learning are outlined, demonstrating their importance in addressing the unique needs of students with intellectual disabilities. The literature also analyzes previous studies, offering insights into the benefits and effectiveness of active learning strategies in inclusive classrooms. These benefits include enhancing collaboration, autonomy, and adaptability among students.
